Clementine

Clementine (Citrus × clementina) is a hybrid citrus fruit, derived from the hybridization between mandarin and bitter orange.

Traditional history says that the origin of clementines was an accidental hybridization discovered by Father Clément Rodier in the late 19th century in the garden of his orphanage in Misserghin, Algeria. However, there are other authors who are of the opinion that it originated in China much earlier.

Details

Its juice is sweeter than a normal orange and makes it an ideal fruit for children and adults. Some clementines have a green tint near the end of the stem. This does not show immaturity nor is it considered a skin blemish.
